  • Around a 10-minute drive from central Nelson. Head into the Brook Campground and follow the signs all the way to the end.

  • Each booking runs for 1hr and 45min, giving you plenty of time to settle in, graze, and enjoy the evening without feeling rushed.

  • Layers are a good idea as the forest tends to cool off around 6:30-7:00pm. We also recommend comfortable shoes to make the walk in and out much more enjoyable. Think relaxed, romantic, and weather-appropriate rather than formal.

  • If it rains, conditions are unsafe or the experience can’t go ahead, we’ll be in touch with options to reschedule.

  • Yes, toilets are located at the hub where you enter the Sanctuary.

  • The chances are low… but never zero. Kiwi are nocturnal, so sightings are unlikely during most Date Nights. However, later bookings that move into dusk may hear kiwi calling, so keep your taringa switched on.

    Inside info: The Beech Glade has a nearby trail cam that’s been triggered a few times by kiwi wandering past.

  • Not at all. The main track is well formed and designed for accessibility.

    Do note that The River involves a short detour off the main track and down a slightly uneven path, so reasonable mobility is required for this location.

  • Though heels make your legs look amazing, they may not be the best footwear for wandering through the forest. If heels are non-negotiable, we recommend booking The Meadow which is just a one-minute walk from the hub.

  • Our Date Nights are intentionally designed to feel private and secluded. You may briefly cross paths with other guests when arriving at or departing from the hub, but once you head off to your location, the forest is very much yours.

  • No, Date Me Darling is an alcohol-free event series.

  • Absolutely. Whether it’s a first date, an anniversary, or a long-overdue night away from the usual routine, the experience is designed to feel easy, natural, and unforced.

  • Yes. Date Me Darling operates with deep respect for the Sanctuary. Group sizes are intentionally small, locations are carefully chosen, and all set-ups are low-impact and temporary.

  • If your booking starts at 7pm or later, dusk will settle in toward the end of your evening. We’ll provide torches for your walk back to the hub so you can find your way comfortably.
