Here, you’ll sink into a nest of blankets and pillows on a fully decked clearing beneath a canopy of trees. Fairy lights flicker. Candles glow. Nelson’s finest local produce waits on a platter chosen just for you. Somewhere nearby, the river murmurs softly and as dusk arrives, the birds take centre stage.
There’s no cell reception here and that’s entirely the point. With games, thoughtful conversation prompts and nothing to rush you along, the Beech Glade invites you to slow down, be present and connect on a deeper level. Open sky above, long grass underfoot, and the forest standing quietly at the edges like it knows not to interrupt. The Meadow is soft, subtle and quietly charming. It’s hidden from paths, hidden from cell towers and hidden from the worries of the world. It’s the one you choose when you’re trying to play it cool.
Amongst the clearing you’ll find a picnic table dressed in its Sunday best. Cushions, blankets, linen throws, games, fairy lights, candles and a locally sourced platter… just for you. It’s chic. It’s understated. And it’s a little bit endearing. As evening rolls in, this spot turns up the charm. Local Tui make their presence known, the fading light dances through the trees and the river below seems to murmur a little louder. There’s a gentle ease to this spot that makes even the most hardened individuals soften around the edges.
