Date Me Darling
Three private locations | Limited bookings | Only available February + March 2026
An exclusive date night series held at The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, Nelson
Date Me Darling is a series of private, thoughtfully curated date nights for couples who want to slow down and get away from the distractions of the world. Set inside the Brook Waimarama Sanctuary, each experience is designed to help you switch off, be in the moment and enjoy time with your favourite human.
These date nights take place in the evening, after the sanctuary has closed to the public. And with only a handful of couples hosted each night, you’ll have almost the entire sanctuary to yourselves. Just you, your person and the bees and the birds.
The Beech Glade.
❊ Oh my darling, the Beech Glade is exquisite
Hidden deep among towering native beech trees, this is our most private and intimate date night location… the one you choose when you want the world to fall away. Eight minutes from the Sanctuary hub (and a lifetime from your inbox), you’ll wander just far enough to feel deliciously hidden. No foot traffic. No interruptions. Just you, your favourite human, and the quiet hum of the forest settling in for the evening.
The River.
❊ This ones for the lovers, the romantics and ones in need of brownie points
Just imagine… a crystal clear river with a canopy of hanging trees. A satin-draped table with a beautifully curated platter just for you and your favourite human. Flickering lights that dance in the shadows while a soft breeze plays the forest's birdsong. It feels intimate, cinematic and just a little bit unreal. My darling, this is the kind of date setup you see on Instagram… only this time, it's right in front of you.
The Meadow.
❊ It’s understated. It’s subtle. It says I’m making a statement without making a statement.
Open sky above, long grass underfoot, and the forest standing quietly at the edges like it knows not to interrupt. The Meadow is soft, subtle and quietly charming. It’s hidden from paths, hidden from cell towers and hidden from the worries of the world.
The Brook Waimarama Sanctuary
Just minutes from Nelson’s city centre, the Brook Waimārama Sanctuary is the South Island’s largest fully fenced eco-sanctuary—690 hectares of protected native forest alive with rare and threatened species. This is a place where you can reconnect with nature, breathe deeply, and experience the mauri (life force) of Aotearoa’s unique environment.
In May 2025, kiwi were reintroduced to Brook Waimārama Sanctuary and the results have been nothing short of magical. Following a successful first breeding season, the sanctuary is now home to baby kiwi, with chicks last captured on video on 23 December 2025. Alongside kiwi, the forest shelters tūī, bellbirds, kererū, kākā and a thriving chorus of native wildlife, all woven through lush ngahere, winding streams and towering trees. Quietly extraordinary, deeply protected, and breathtakingly beautiful.
